Membership

General membership is open to any person once appointed to the Judiciary of New Zealand.

We have been most fortunate that several founding members have given generous support to enable us to commence the Association and continue with its work. We aim to have as many of the existing Judiciary in New Zealand – from all Courts – within the Association. Because of our desire to work collegially with the Women Judges’ Association, and to attract retired judges, we have a special annual rate of $80 for these categories. This ensures that for members of the Women Judges’ Association a total payment for both organisations is only $200.

In respect of all other sitting judges, who are not in the above categories, the annual fee is $150. Can we say that the entire attention of the funding is to promote the welfare of the Judiciary, both in terms of its independence and wellness, by expending funds in appropriate areas.
